Privacy

This policy covers this website (www.wayfolk.app) and its waitlist. The WayFolk app itself has its own in-product privacy controls, summarised at the end.

Who we are

WayFolk is operated by Wayfolk OÜ (registry code 14940095), P. Süda tn 3–4, 10118 Tallinn, Estonia. For any privacy question or request, email hello@wayfolk.app. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
• A referral link, if you used one. If you join through someone’s personal invite link, we record the connection between you and the person who invited you, so that you start out connected when the app opens.
• A coarse “source” label for how you reached the site (for example instagram, google, or direct). This is a single low-cardinality label — not your browsing history, and not a profile of you.
• Privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (page views, country, referrer) via Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless and only loads if you accept Analytics in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We process this data on the basis of your consent, to: let you know when WayFolk opens; send the one confirmation email that verifies your address (double opt-in); and, where you joined via an invite link, pre-connect you with the person who invited you at launch. We use aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who processes it

We never sell or rent your data. We share it only with the providers that run this site:

• Supabase — stores the waitlist database.
• Resend — sends the single confirmation email.
• Cloudflare — hosting and cookieless analytics.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details until WayFolk opens, or until you ask us to remove them — whichever comes first. You can unsubscribe or request deletion at any time by emailing hello@wayfolk.app.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, withdraw your consent, or object to processing. Email hello@wayfolk.app and we’ll act on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).

The WayFolk app

The app is built so that you decide who sees you, and where. Per-person controls, ghost mode, and granular travel visibility are part of the product, not an afterthought. The app will have its own detailed privacy policy at launch.
